THE UFA FUTSAL PROGRAM


All UFA teams play in the United Futsal League at MVP Sports. Every year, the league

includes more than 100 teams from Des Moines and surrounding areas. We look forward to having a fun time while the children continue to develop their skills.

Why do players, parents and coaches love this game so much?

We love futsal because it increases the number of times that children touch the ball

exponentially. The players will be exposed to a high intensity environment which will

develop ball skills and decision making.

  1. The game was invented in Uruguay in 1930.
  2. Futsal is the only indoor sport sanctioned by FIFA.
  3. Futsal in a scaled down version of outdoor soccer.
  4. Players touch the ball 210% more times than they do in an outdoor game.
  5. Some of the best players in history played futsal as youngsters. Examples include: Lionel Messi, Crisitano Ronaldo and Ronaldinho!
